Remarkable natural gas resources were discovered in Sichuan Basin

On May 4, an exploration well Penglai-1, drilled by PetroChina Southwest Oil & Gas Company, produced 1,219,800 cubic meters of natural gas during production testing, marking the discovery of a new natural gas abundance zone in the Central Sichuan Basin. With an authorized exploration area of 2,000 square kilometers, the new zone is estimated to harbor potential resources of over one trillion cubic meters.
